  1. Prepare 1 bowl Jackfruit
  2. Prepare 2 cup dosa rice
  3. Take to taste Jaggery
  4. Take to taste Salt
  5. Make ready 1 cup grated coconut

Instructions to make Jackfruit Idli Recipe Peel, de seed and chop jackfruit roughly. In a mixer, grind jackfruit flesh pieces and jaggery. Jaggery will leave water as you grind.

  1. Wash and soak dosa rice for 3-4 hours or overnight.
  2. Remove seeds from jackfruit and keep it ready.
  3. Add soaked rice, jackfruit and grated coconut to mixi jar and grind it.
  4. Add jaggery for sweetness (which depends on jackfruit) and salt into mixi jar and grind it once again. Batter is ready.
  5. Take ghee greased idly plate and pour the batter into it.
  6. Steam Cook it for 20-25 minutes.
  7. Grind Grated coconut, one piece ginger, salt, green chilli, tamarind and water together and ginger chutney is ready.
  8. Serve Jackfruit Idly with ghee, ginger chutney and pickle.

These sweet jackfruit fritters are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. My mom usually makes a big batch of this jackfruit batter, deep fries some to make delicious jackfruit fritters. She then cooks the remaining batter to make delectable jackfruit idlis. These sweet jackfruit idlis are called ponsa idli/ponsa muddo in Konkani. The jackfruit leaves are dense in antioxidants and this form of steaming idlis in leaves incorporates all the juices and flavours of the leaves into the idlis..
