The ingredients needed to make Malai Barfi:
  1. Make ready 1 Litre Full Cream Milk
  2. Get 100 Gms Sugar
  3. Take 1/4 Tsp Cardamom Powder
  4. Prepare 1 Pinch Alum
  5. Prepare 1 Tbsp Pistachios Chopped
  6. Get 1 Tbsp Almonds Chopped
Steps to make Malai Barfi:
  1. Take a heavy bottom pan or wok. Pour 500 ml of milk and boil on high flame. Keep stirring.
  2. When the milk reduces to half add remaining 500 ml of milk. Keep stirring.
  3. Let it boil on high flame only. When the milk thickens add sugar and stir continuously.
  4. Add alum after 2 - 3 minutes. Keep stirring.
  5. Add half cardamom powder and mix well. When you see that there is no milk left close the flame and transfer the whole material in a greased plate.
  6. Sprinkle cardamom powder. Chopped pistachios and almonds. (I have used only almonds)
  7. Press it and keep it to rest for 3 to 4 hours.
  8. After that cut in your desired shape.
